Meet Dr. Zaidal Obagi
Zaidal Obagi, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist based in Los Angeles. He recently completed his dermatology residency at Banner University/University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Obagi earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 2020, where he was awarded an academic excellence scholarship. He also holds a Master of Science in Medical Sciences and a dual Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Economics from Boston University, graduating cum laude and actively participating in academic societies, including Alpha Epsilon Delta.
Dr. Obagi brings extensive research experience across multiple fields, including dermatology, plastic surgery, and cardiovascular medicine, collaborating with leading institutions such as UC Irvine, Boston University, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, focusing on areas like wound healing, dermatological disorders, and cosmetic treatments. He has also presented his work at major medical conferences, including the American Academy of Dermatology and the Pacific Dermatologic Association.
Following in the footsteps of his father, the renowned Dr. Zein Obagi, Dr. Zaidal Obagi shares a passion for advancing the field of dermatology and mentoring future physicians. He teaches the principles of ZO’s skin health philosophy, emphasizing the importance of optimizing skin health to enhance patient outcomes and treatments, with the goal of broadening the impact of these transformative concepts.
Dr. Obagi has demonstrated leadership throughout his career, serving as a chief resident during his residency training and holding executive positions in medical school and undergraduate organizations. He remains dedicated to community service, volunteering at free clinics and participating in skin cancer screenings to support underserved populations.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Obagi is supported by his family, including his wife, Yasmeen, who shares his passion for health and wellness. In his free time, he enjoys reading to broaden his knowledge and traveling to experience diverse cultures.
